Our teachers reflect deeply on their practice, collaborating their knowledge and participating in regular learning opportunities through professional development. We acknowledge Papatūānuku as being essential to developing children’s understanding of their role in caring for our planet while inspiring learning and leadership.

We work to provide an environment that embraces diversity while promoting curiosity, exploration, communication and deeper thinking. We believe positive, meaningful relationships with whanau and community (whanaungatanga) are central to enriching children’s holistic well-being and development. We prioritise the importance of all children to feel secure in their cultural identity.

We honour Te Tiriti O Waitangi, respecting Maori as tangata whenua reflecting this partnership in our daily interactions with people, places and things. Kindergarten students at ECS perform above the national average for reading and math in growth assessments, which are administered three times during the school year.We provide a safe, nurturing and fun environment which enables children to develop the interests, knowledge and skills required to become capable, confident and competent life-long learners. The small and nurturing classroom environment inspires students to reach their potential, fosters positive relationships with peers and teachers, and reinforces the values taught at home. Our desire is to encourage a life-long love of learning in the areas of Language Arts (reading, writing, and spelling), Math, Science, Social Studies, Art, Music, and Technology. Students learn to build words by combining sounds and become confident readers. Our phonics-based reading program is a cornerstone of our success. Our program is an exciting, hands-on adventure in learning in a dynamic and bright environment. Through differentiated instruction, teachers help students achieve academic growth based on different skill levels and speed of progress. Our curriculum is aligned with, and exceeds, the Indiana Academic Standards with an integrated Biblical worldview. ECS strives to provide a learning experience where students are encouraged to explore and equipped to learn while developing critical thinking skills. It’s the perfect balance of independent instruction and small group collaboration. Kindergarten days are filled with fun and joy - lots of movement, music, and play - as well as time for calm and quiet. Our schools are co-located with like-minded host partners in nonprofit hubs, affordable housing complexes, education institutions, and employer campuses. Children must be 5 years old by August 1 to enroll. Before and after school care is also available from 6:30 a.m. In addition to physical safety, we are committed to ensuring every child feels socially and emotionally safe at school as well. All of our campuses are highly secure, and parents often speak of how safe they feel sending their children to ECS. Kindergarten classes are offered at our Elementary Campus, and classes have a maximum of 22 students with a licensed teacher and a full-time assistant in each of the four homerooms.

ECS is a school where students feel seen and known, as well as a place where they learn about the Bible and see Christian values modeled every day. Kindergarten students at ECS are actively engaged in learning through key academic fundamentals while also capturing their imagination so they will continue to love learning.
