With the stone, open your inventory crafting and fill it with stones, to make a cobblestone block. Now that you have your sieve, get some more dirt (around 5-6), I know this is a crazy long process, but it’s all worth it.Īfter your grind, hold the dirt and hold down right click to sieve the dirt, then you get some stones, and maybe even some seeds! Once you have the string, fill a crafting table with string to make some sort of net. Right click the silk worm in some leaves, and let it infest the entire tree (takes about 100 seconds, have patience).Īfter all of the tree leaves are 100% infested (white), break all of the leaves with a crook to get some string. After you have this, plant another tree, but do not destroy it (yet). Keep farming trees as instructed until you come across a silk worm (if you haven’t already). The first is to use it for another tree, or save it later. Once you have the dirt, you have 2 options. Once you have placed down the barrel, place 8-9 saplings in the barrel, which will compress to create a dirt block, a very valuable item in sky factory, early game wise. Do so by putting a platform in the bottom middle, and surround by wood on the sides. After you have around 20 extra saplings on you, you will want to craft a barrel. After you get the sapling, replant the tree, harvest, grow platform, get sapling, repeat. Next, carefully use the crook and hope for a sapling and maybe even a silk worm (later in game). Use the rest of your wood for a crafting table and a wood platform. This will keep the leaves alive while you turn all of your logs into planks, make 4 sticks, and a item called a crook. I’m looking forward to seeing what trouble I can get myself into this time.First, break the tree logs, leave the bottom one and don’t touch the leaves yet. It’s these moments in minecraft that make me laugh the most, the unsuspecting trials and tribulations that you come up against (like that tornado that swept me away last time, that was hilarious). The cube blew up most of their base, stranding two players on a single block of dirt in the middle of nowhere while their buddy was left with whatever remained of their base.
Chance cubes are awesome, but they’re also random. I watched a hilarious youtube video last night of a group who happened upon a chance cube. That way if you die you don’t have to give up and start the world over. Since death means you lose everything ideally you want to leave your items in chests at your base and not carry them around with you. One of my first goals will be to have an automatic tree farm. Creating them is not easy, but eventually once you do the slow part you should be able to automate it. The pack is created custom so that you’re still able to create things like dirt and ore in a world where there’s no actual ground beneath you. Saplings need light at night in order to grow so to speed the process up a bit (they still take forever) I placed some torches. More dirt means I can plant more trees which of course means more wood. Once I made a crook and harvested a few saplings it was time to make a barrel that would let me compost my spare saplings and turn that into dirt. It also gives me 6, so I can expand rapidly. Why? Because monsters won’t spawn on them. It’s done with half thickness planks instead of blocks. There are optimal ways of doing this – take my platform pictured above. Your challenge is to create a base and survive. You spawn on top of a single tree that rests on a single square of dirt.
